its easy to play it without steam just get the original file like the source .the file name hl2 put it in a folder with the mods folder then make a text file called whater mod it is.bat the write a commandline towards the hl2.exe and after it put -whatever the mods name is the save it and click the .bat and you should be in buisness

Sadly not all the mods go through steam, I had to download a Mount & Blade for the game again or can I download it without paying because I paid before?
